The Basics

What Is Treasury Management?

The systematic handling of a company's outgoing cash flow, daily liquidity position, and bank relationships. In plain terms: deciding which bills get paid, when, from which account, and ensuring every transfer complies with the documentation and timing rules each bank and regulator requires.

It is distinct from two services it is often confused with: Bookkeeping records what already happened (the journal entry after a payment goes out). AP/AR Management tracks what is owed at the ledger level. Treasury Management executes the payments and manages the live cash position — the operational layer between AP/AR and the bank.

Why This Matters in Thailand

Bank of Thailand (BOT) FX regulations govern outbound foreign-currency transfers. Each transfer over the prevailing threshold requires supporting documentation — invoices, contracts, and beneficiary information. Mistakes trigger BOT inquiries and can delay payments by days or weeks.

AML / KYC requirements under the Anti-Money Laundering Act B.E. 2542 require banks to scrutinize unusual payment patterns. Companies whose behavior triggers AML alerts can have accounts frozen pending investigation, with significant operational disruption.

PND 1 and Social Security cut-offs mean payroll must release on a specific calendar date each month. Missing the cut-off triggers penalties under the Revenue Code and Social Security Act and damages employee trust.

Segregation of Duties

You retain full control over approvals. Plizz prepares, schedules, and follows up; you authorize and release. This separation of duties is a baseline internal control that protects against fraud and satisfies auditor expectations.

Plizz vs the Alternatives

Why operators outsource treasury rather than absorb it into other roles

The hidden cost of ad-hoc treasury is measured in penalties, account freezes, and founder hours — not just service fees.

Who This Is For

Who Needs Treasury Management?

You likely need outsourced treasury if you recognize yourself in any of these situations.

  • You are a foreign founder or expat-led SME without a Thai-fluent finance officer who can navigate each domestic bank's online platform, signatory rules, and cut-off times
  • You are scaling past 10–15 outgoing payments per month and the founder or finance manager is spending 4–8 hours per week on payment administration
  • You are an MNC subsidiary where group treasury policy requires segregation of duties and your local team is too small to internally segregate
  • Your company holds multiple bank relationships — THB operating, FX, BOI-promoted, foreign-parent loan — and reconciling daily balances has become its own task
  • You are preparing for fundraising, due diligence, or audit and need a documented payment trail demonstrating internal controls

You probably don't need this service if…

  • ·

Your company has fewer than five outgoing payments per month from a single bank account.

  • ·

You already employ a dedicated treasurer or finance manager whose primary role is cash and payment management.

Combined-Package Saving

Plizz Group clients who hold both Bookkeeping and Treasury packages benefit from integrated reporting and reduced setup fees. Contact us for a combined-services quote.

How It Works

Our Process

A clear, structured approach from start to finish.

  1. Onboarding (2–3 weeks)

Review current payment process, integrate Plizz into bank user list with view-only access, document approval matrix, run parallel payment cycle before go-live.

  2. Daily Monitoring

Receive payment requests and supporting documents from your team; track bank balances across all designated accounts; flag upcoming due dates.

  3. Weekly Execution

Prepare payment schedules and bank transfer details; send payment list for client approval; coordinate domestic and international payments via designated bank.

  4. Vendor & Intercompany Liaison

Follow up on payment status with vendors and service providers; coordinate intercompany payments where applicable.

  5. Monthly Close

Reconcile completed payments against bookkeeping records; prepare payment summaries and treasury report; adjust cash projections for next month.
