What You Get
Everything the LTR Visa Gives You
10-Year Residence Security
Two consecutive 5-year terms — no annual extensions, no uncertainty. Multiple re-entry is automatic; no re-entry permit required.
17% Flat Personal Income Tax
Thai-source employment income taxed at just 17% — versus Thailand's standard top rate of 35%. Foreign income can be exempted entirely.
Unlimited Dependent Family
Bring your entire family under the 2025 amendments. Spouse work authorization is automatic — no separate permit needed.
Digital Work Permit
Skip the paper-based system. Your work permit is digital, and employment changes involve far less friction than a standard Non-B.

Who This Is For
Who Qualifies for the LTR Visa?
The LTR covers four distinct profiles — Wealthy Global Citizen, Wealthy Pensioner, Work-from-Thailand Professional, and Highly-Skilled Professional. The 2025 amendments expanded eligibility materially.
- The FAANG or big-tech remote worker — earning USD 80,000–200,000 from a US or European employer with revenue above USD 50M (the 2025 threshold, down from USD 150M), who never wants to sit in a 90-day reporting queue again
- The wealthy retiree aged 55–70 with USD 80,000+ annual pension income, Thailand as a permanent base, and no patience for yearly Non-OA renewals and OIC insurance compliance stress
- The high-net-worth investor with USD 1M+ in verifiable assets willing to place USD 500,000 in Thai real estate, bonds, or a Thai bank deposit — the Wealthy Global Citizen category now has no income requirement under the 2025 amendments
- The Highly-Skilled Specialist in biotech, aviation, robotics, digital infrastructure, or fintech who wants the 17% flat personal income tax on Thai employment income (work-experience requirement removed in 2025)
- The current Smart Visa T/I/E holder whose category no longer renews — the LTR is the logical 10-year successor; the transition takes 3–4 months, so starting 6 months before expiry is the right timing
- The expat family where both partners want work authorisation — the 2025 amendments unlocked unlimited dependents and automatic spousal work authorisation in qualifying categories
- The long-term Non-B holder (5+ years) exploring upgrade — LTR extends residence security to 10 years while preserving a clear path to Permanent Residence

Why Plizz
Why Choose Plizz for Your LTR Visa
LTR applications involve BOI filing, Revenue Department registration, and — for families — coordinated dependent visas. Our team manages the full stack, including the 17% flat-tax activation that most agents overlook.
2025-Updated Category Expertise
Our team is current with the January 2025 Cabinet Resolution amendments — expanded family allowances, lower Work-from-Thailand thresholds (USD 50M, down from USD 150M), and removed experience requirements mean many previously ineligible applicants now qualify.
Bridge-Visa Strategy Built Into Every Engagement
BOI endorsement takes approximately 2 months. If you are on a tourist visa, DTV, or Non-B while applying, that visa may expire during processing. We plan the bridge from day one — so you are never in overstay territory while the LTR is pending.
Tax Registration in Parallel — 17% Rate From Day One
The 17% flat PIT for Highly-Skilled holders does not activate automatically — it requires Registration with the Revenue Department after visa issuance. We run the tax setup in parallel with the final visa step so the rate applies from your first payroll month.
Unlimited Family Bundling
Under the 2025 amendments, spouse and all dependent children are eligible under one primary application. We quote the full family bundle upfront — no surprise per-dependent fees at filing.
Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions before and during engagement.
Work-from-Thailand Professional (WFTP) — important note on work permit scope
The WFTP track authorises remote work for a foreign employer — it does not include a Thai work permit. If a Thai client opportunity arrives while you are on WFTP status, you will need a separate Department of Employment work permit before accepting it. This is the most frequently misunderstood aspect of the LTR WFTP category. Plizz explains the boundary at eligibility assessment so there are no surprises later.
Worried about losing your visa status during the LTR application?
BOI endorsement for the LTR takes approximately 2 months. If you are currently on a tourist visa, DTV, or Non-B, that visa may expire before the LTR is issued. An expired visa during processing means overstay — and overstay creates fines (THB 500/day) and potential complications for the LTR itself. Plizz builds the bridge-visa plan into every LTR engagement from day one: we extend your current status, obtain a new Non-B, or structure a multi-entry tourist entry so you are never in overstay territory while BOI is reviewing your file.
Comparison
Plizz vs. the Alternatives
| Approach | What you get | The risk |
|---|---|---|
| DIY via ltr.boi.go.th | Save agent fees | No bridge-visa strategy; document gaps stall BOI; 17% flat tax not activated because Revenue registration step missed. Rejection sends you back to the Non-B queue. |
| Visa agent (cheap broker) | Lower cost, handles paperwork | No tax-structuring integration. Broker does not know how LTR interacts with your payroll, Thai investment, or foreign-income exemption. You get the visa but miss the 17% rate. |
| Large law firm | Deep bench, high credibility | Appropriate for M&A-linked immigration or complex multi-jurisdiction files. Overkill and expensive for a single-applicant or family LTR with clean financials. |
| Plizz | Immigration + tax structuring + Thai investment coordination in one engagement | You get the visa AND the 17% rate AND the investment structured correctly — single accountability chain across immigration, tax, and legal. |

Related Services
LTR pairs with tax optimisation and a long-term immigration plan — start with the eligibility call, then we build the full roadmap.
Smart Visa
T/I/E categories no longer accept new applications. If your Smart Visa expires within 12 months, begin LTR now — the transition takes 3–4 months and must be timed so work authorisation never lapses.
Permanent Residence
10 years of LTR residence builds the strongest possible PR foundation. Plan the application 1–2 years before the second 5-year term expires — the October–December quota window moves fast.
Tax Advisory
The 17% flat PIT for Highly-Skilled holders does not activate automatically — it requires Revenue Department registration after visa issuance. We run this in parallel so the rate applies from day one.
Non-Immigrant B Visa
Standard fallback for foreign professionals who do not meet LTR income or asset thresholds — paired with a work permit for legal employment.
